CWM Environmental operates two state of the art Material Recycling Facilities (MRFs), the first is designed to process and recover materials from kerbside household recycling, and then pass those materials onto manufactures who then make items from the recycled materials.
The second facility is designed to process black bags, from household kerbside collections and waste from the commercial sector for use as energy from waste, thus diverting materials from landfill.

Waste and recycling is a relatively new, albeit growing industry and the risks we face everyday are well known.

Infrastructure is in place at Nantycaws to extract the LFG and it is converted into electricity via an on-site Waste to Energy Plant.
The landfill gas infrastructure is extended as the landfill site develops.
The current average output is approx. 1 MWh.
LFG also contains varying amounts of nitrogen, oxygen, water vapour, sulphur and other contaminants.
These usually make up less than 1% of LFG.
Gas is extracted by drilling wells into the landfill site.
The landfill gas flows into a network of gas collection pipes and gets processed centrally at a gas plant.
