Pellows Waste disposal is a family run business which has been established over 50 years, making us Cornwall's oldest liquid waste disposal contractor. Pellows specialise in septic tank emptying as well as all other areas of drain maintenance, liquid waste collection, transport and disposal. Pellow's cover the whole of the South West and have many vehicles to suite even the smallest of country lanes.

We operate a 24/7 telephone line for emergency and regular work and pride ourselves on our prompt and reliable service. Our drivers are some of the most experienced in the business and share our company vision to provide the best customer care and service possible while maintaining exceptional value for money. We can provide onsite advice on caring for your septic tank, how often it should be emptied and a general summary of its condition.

We are proud to be able to help with any aspect of drain and septic tank maintenance and can even offer consultancy on a completely new installation as well as replacement and relief installations where a septic tank is failing or failed completely.
Services
A septic tank comes in different shapes and sizes, for example the old Cornish block-built tanks are built out of stone, concrete and even Cornish slate, with the more up to date septic tanks made from plastic or fibre glass, often referred to as onions or bottles.
Generally septic tanks have a primary chamber which allows for a collection of sludge to settle, it then fills up to a certain level and overflows into a soakaway, the filtered water then gets dispersed into the ground.
The soakaway is a vital part of your septic tank, without regular empties the sludge will build up and overflow into your soakaway.
Realising that the average tanker load of sludge contained a high percentage of water, which was needlessly being transported for disposal at the local waste water treatment works.
This system will treat any liquid waste from sewage, food waste, oil, concrete waste, canal waste, ponds, leachate and many more possibilities.
The KSA operates by sucking up the waste material and using a bonding agent, it clumps all the solids together.
Then the material is filtered to separate the solids from the water.
We deliver a range of specialised services that encompass and deal with every stage of a flood ranging from flood prevention through to flood clean up.
We can deploy at short notice to cope with a variety of emergency flood water, whether it's a flooded basement, house, road or business.
We are committed to provide a full clean-up service of a site which has been damaged by flooding, fire or pollution including restoring contaminated waters to their original state.
We have the most comprehensive range of equipment and personnel to minimise impact and disruption.
Understanding the importance of protecting and caring for the environment is paramount at Pellows.
We have an established and constantly evolving environmental waste disposal policy.
Pellows are committed to the protection of water, air and land from contamination and help promote recycling.
We have upheld this value throughout all our work with domestic and commercial customers, in the private and public sector for many years, and continue to strive in all aspects of our environmental clean-up and flood response service.
Grease traps can vary in size depending on the establishment.
The waste produced by larger organisations such as schools, restaurants etc is significantly more than a small cafe so will need emptying more regularly.
Essentially a grease trap is a trap which stops grease passing into a sewer system.
As the wastewater cools, the fat, oil and grease harden, and the food solids settle at the bottom of the trap.
With the fat, oil and grease being lighter than water, it floats to the top.
The waste water is forced through the trap and out into the sewer.
