Formed in 1994 by Scott and Kerry Smith, A & M Smith Recycling Services provide a local skip hire service in the Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City area, for small builders and the general public. Our services include a roll on off vehicle and containers in order to service the needs of larger building contractors, as well as commercial and industrial waste producers.
We have a large fleet of vehicles and one of Scotland's most up-to-date, state-of-the-art waste sorting systems, based at our Aberdeen Recycling and Waste Management Centre. Opening our second recycling centre based at Peterhead in 2012, enabled our services to be expanded across all of Aberdeenshire. Both recycling centres and all our waste management operations are ISO-14001 registered.

We have constructed a custom built van unloading bay, this designated bay enables our local tradesman to safely dismount and unload their vehicle without having to queue and keeps them safely away from HGVs and heavy plant machinery.

The Company expanded its services in 2001 with the purchase of a Rolonoff vehicle and containers to service the needs of larger building contractors as well as commercial and industrial waste producers.
During this period the company increased its inert waste recycling operations to produce a certified Type 2 R aggregate.

We offer three different sizes of Roll On/Off containers, one at 20 cubic yards (suitable for soils or heavy materials or the delivery of Type II sub base.)
Also 30 and 40 Cubic Yard containers for bulky wastes excluding soils plus enclosed and compactor containers.
We provide 660 and 1100 litre lockable Euro Bins for account only customers which can be used for mixed wastes or several on site can be used as separate recycling containers for paper and cardboard.

The company operates a Rear End Loading REL compaction vehicle which is equipped with a weighing device on its multi-lift system which can lift the full spectrum of waste and/or recycling container bins from 240 litre to 1000 litre Euro Bins up to 12 Cu yd enclosed and open REL skips.
This vehicle gives us the ability to service far more customers in a day than a normal skip or rolonoff vehicle.
The REL can empty several containers at a customers premises, compact the waste inside the vehicle and leave the emptied containers on site.

We are one of the largest waste timber processors in Aberdeenshire with a dedicated shredding quality control and grade seperation system producing wood fibre for panel board manufacture in the Central Belt as well as animal bedding from the sawdust fines which are a bi-product of the shredding process.
Commercial, Business, Construction and similar recyclable wastes are sorted in the state of the art picking station to maximise the diversion of wastes from landfill by segregating out timber, metals, cardboard, paper, plastics, plasterboards and aggregates.
